From Manilva to Bangkok: Christian Lee Dunn Represents the UK in Mr. Bear International

Local resident Christian Lee Dunn is making international headlines as he proudly represents the United Kingdom at the prestigious Mr. Bear International 2025 competition, currently taking place in Bangkok, Thailand.

The event, which draws contestants from across the globe, celebrates the Bear community – a subculture within the LGBTQ+ community known for promoting masculinity, strength, inclusivity, and body positivity. Often seen as a counter to conventional beauty standards, the Mr. Bear International pageant highlights that bigger bodies are just as beautiful, confident, and worthy of celebration.

Christian, who has called Manilva home for several years, is excited to be part of an event that aligns so closely with his values.

“I’ve been following the competition since the first ever Mr. Bear International last year,” Christian says. “While most countries only host national competitions, this one brings people from all over the world together. I love to absorb different cultures and customs, so I just knew I had to get involved.”

The competition includes several categories, such as formal tuxedo, swimwear, and national costume, each designed to allow contestants to showcase their personality, pride, and cultural identity.

Although Christian is currently in Bangkok competing, the support from Manilva and across the UK continues to pour in — and the public has a chance to make a real difference in the outcome.
